Popular St. Petersburg singer may become the lead singer of a modern Swedish group. Various rumors are circulating around Moscow that one of the members of Swedish group “Vacuum” is going to leave or has left already. As everybody knows, a good spot never stays empty. People say the vacancy may filled by no one else but popular St Petersburg singer, the lead singer of group “Forum”, Sergey Rogogin. Since group “Vacuum” was not available for interviews, the reporter of “Vedomosi” asked Sergey Rogogin to clear the situation. Here is what she heard.
“This story is simply unbelievable,” said Sergey. My daughter Sasha likes group “Vaccum” a lot. She asked me to get her this group’s CD for New Years. She was listening to it all day long, singing along in English, which she is studying in a private school and knows quite well. She especially liked one of the songs. I said: “If you want, I can record this song in Russian for you.” Sasha was delighted! In the time between January 1st and Old New Year we recorded Russian version in a studio and we called it “The summer is calling”. The music was arranged by Vladimir Sayko and the lyrics were written by Sergey Rost. I was not going to actually perform this song, I was just going to make a gift to my daughter. And it turned out I made a gift to group “Vacuum.”
When group “Vaccum” came to Russia, my good friends from radio station
“Europa Plus” arranged me a meeting with the group, when they heard this
song. I gave the musicians my audio-tape with this song and others. They
were very happy that a Russian singer sang their hit in Russian. We
became friends and we spent several days together.
Recently the story continued: the company, which was arranging the tour
for “Vaccum” in Russia, found out about my new single with three songs
and “The Summer is calling” among them. They told the group about it,
and they asked the single to be sent to them. Their music writer and
manager, Alexander Rost, who didn’t come to Russia during their first
visit, liked the Russian version and suggested to talk about joint
project with me as soon as there is an opportunity. I promise your
newspaper will be the first to find out once that happens.
